Trends emerging from the 2019 Summer Fancy Food Show would suggest we’re looking to mix up the ingredients found in our drinks. Expect to see stand out ingredients in award-winning new products, including lavender, rosemary, bourbon and rye, and pink peppercorns… and a whole host of floral infusions.
Sweet or spicy?
The demand for hot flavours has been on trend for some time, but there’s a new emergence of products and flavour combinations ready to set your world alight.
Get ready to sample spiced up ice creams, and chocolates with a real kick, forget run of the mill spice, it’s Habanero time!
The vegan option:
In 2018, the UK launched more vegan products than any nation. Whether it was a sausage roll, ice cream, burger or ready meal, brands are reacting to the news that Vegan was predicted to be the biggest food trend of the year. And demand continues. By 2025 vegetarians and vegans are expected to account for a quarter of the populations, with just under half of UK consumers opting for a flexitarian diet.
Social dining:
18-35 year olds spend on average 5 days per year looking a photos of food on Instagram, and 30% of them would avoid a restaurant of its Instagram presence was weak.
