When did you first set up your social channels, and what got you started?
I first started my Instagram account in February 2014. I had just joined Slimming World and had been inspired by others on Instagram to document my food and weight-loss journey.
How has the digital landscape changed for you and how you share content since then?
I share a lot more of my life now than just my food, I’ve found it comforting to share the highs and lows of parenting and that has been pretty life changing in many different ways! I only share content now that I feel relevant to my life/that particular day and try and share seasonal and easy recipes rather than every single meal I’m eating!
What advice would you give a brand or PR representative looking to potentially work with you to create content?
I think its so important for bloggers and influencers to sound like themselves and personally find sponsored content that doesn’t feel forced and is natural and relevant to that person a lot more interesting.
What kind of projects do you enjoy doing most?
I love getting the kids involved with things (when they want to be!) I love doing things that help me to improve my photography skills as I feel I learn the most from this, so I always feel like I’ve accomplished something!
What advice would you give someone looking to build their social channels?
Just be yourself. Authenticity above all is the most interesting content I feel. Don’t feel any pressure to copy someone if they seem to be successful… just do what you want to do, engage with people you want to engage with and put the time into the things you love.
