As a consumer PR agency, the team here at Escapade are always interested in keeping up with changing consumer habits. November is World Vegan Month and the perfect time to learn about all things vegan. As consumers, it’s important to learn what changes we can make in our day to day lives to minimise the impact we have on the environment.
Vegan Alternatives
Brands are always creating new alternatives so that consumers can enjoy their favourite products that suit to their vegan lifestyle. There are the obvious substitutes such as milk, eggs, and cheese which are popular products we use day to day.

It’s no surprise that we often turn to social media for inspiration when it comes to our lifestyles and diet choices. TikTok and Instagram are great ways for the vegan community to share their delicious discoveries and support those who are trying to follow a vegan lifestyle.
Influencers who drive awareness across these platforms share what they eat in a day and favourite finds for vegan alternatives.
The History of World Vegan Month/Day
As stated on the Vegan Day website, “World Vegan Day (1st November) originated in England in 1994, when vegan animal rights activist Louise Wallis was looking for a suitable setting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Vegan Society. As President of the Vegan Society, her aim was not only to emphasise the continued existence of a vegan association, but also to draw attention to the fact that the word ‘vegan’ had found its way into the English language.”
This was then extended to become World Vegan Week and then World Vegan Month, which continues the celebrations throughout November!
We love to keep up with National Days and educate ourselves on important topics. So why not check out our blog on World Mental Health Day 2023.
