Our Favourite Christmas Adverts of 2022

With our favourite time of year fast approaching here at Escapade, what could be better than cosying up by the fire with a cup of hot chocolate and watching all your favourite Christmas adverts?

So, if you’re not yet feeling that holiday spirit just yet we are certain these adverts will certainly leave you feeling festive!

John Lewis

“The Beginner”

It wouldn’t be Christmas if we didn’t start off with John Lewis. Every year their adverts are made with thought and inspiration at the core, and this year didn’t disappoint! A heart-warming story tackling the reality of the child-care system. This truly highlights how Christmas is often lost on materialism and gifts and how it’s often “the things we do that mean the most”.

Aldi

Kevin the carrot is back!

Aldi is bringing the back this iconic character this year with a wholesome spin on the much-loved film Home Alone. Kevin the carrot is left at home, and it isn’t long before he is up to all his festive mischief and Christmas antics.

Asda

“Elf yourself a merry little Christmas”

Asda this year are certainly a contender with their revival of popular Christmas movie Elf’s notorious scenes. Number 4 in the UK, this movie certainly brings that festive cheer to the family.

Disney

“The Gift”

Disney has done it again, with a wholesome advert with a deeper message. The final chapter of #fromourfamilytoyours. It tackles the reality of change for lots of us, how it’s important to cherish the memories and traditions we have made but still be open to new ones.

Sainsbury’s

“Once upon a Pud”

The well-known This Morning presenter Allison Hammond showcases her quirky character as the countess who hates Christmas pudding. Allison Hammond has become a likeable icon over the years, so Sainsbury’s have certainly made an advert that won’t be easy to forget!

Celebrations

Bring back bounty! Celebrations have created a showstopper of a marketing strategy that has continued into their Christmas advert. The love-hate relationship between consumers and the beloved Bounty has been a topic of conversation for many of us.

Boots

“Joy for all”

Always searching for the perfect gift? Boots have captured this concept through a pair of glasses which allow you to see your friends and families’ deepest desires. A lovely representation of buying gifts that mean something.

For us at Escapade our favourite adverts collectively were Asda, Celebrations and John Lewis.  It was great to see a selection of adverts this year all with different styles and messages.

It’s always exciting to see how different brands approach the Christmas season, some brands relay the meaning behind the Christmas season as sharing and kindness, whereas others take a more lively and animated approach.
