This month we’re getting to know the wonderful Kelly Prince-Wright, who covers fashion, travel, and general lifestyle – a “lover of London and consumer of coffee”! Here’s what she has to say:
When did you first set up your social channels, and what got you started?
I set up my social channels ages ago! I think I started my Instagram in 2014. I’d started my blog but at the time Instagram wasn’t a big thing and I wasn’t super keen on focusing on social media. I was more excited about writing on my blog when I could find the time. How funny that things can change so much, where I’m now extremely passionate about social media and blogging.
How has the digital landscape changed for you and how you share content since then?
Absolutely. I spent a lot of time on Twitter back then but now mostly use Instagram as my main social media channel. And I’m so happy things have changed because I much prefer using imagery and long captions to tell stories and to create amazing content through it.
What advice would you give a brand or PR representative looking to potentially work with
you on creating content?
Simply to reach out! I have my email available on my blog and social media channels so I’m open to being contact about collaborations and projects with PRs and brands. I would advise however to make sure to do your research in order to make sure we’ll be a good fit for each other. It’s always about creating a mutually beneficial partnership.
What kind of projects do you enjoy doing most?
I like working on all kinds of projects. I love that I consider myself a lifestyle blogger because it means that I get to work across a multitude of different projects and with a variety of brands. Having that sort of flexibility means that I never feel stifled or like I should only be creating “one thing”. Instead I get to create things that make me happy.
What advice would you give someone looking to build their social channels?
I would say first and foremost to stay true to yourself. Create the kind of content that you enjoy working on. Because when you’re creating something that you love, people can tell! Also, stay consistent. Post daily or every other day, whatever works best for you but stick to it. Even I struggle with that sometimes, but it’s all about building a habit.
