Christmas in July is always a busy time for Escapade, gold ribbon and gift bags litter our desks whilst we prepare for the wrapping event of the year – the Christmas gift wrapping master class with specialist Jane Means. Jane Means has wrapped gifts for an endless list of celebrities, Dior, Selfridges and even featured in an advert for the little known company, Marks & Spencer!
Needless to say Jane is fabulous and her work is utterly beautiful so when we teamed up with her for our client 3M Scotch Christmas campaign we were more than excited. This year 3M Scotch and the Scotch Pop-Up Tape Handband Dispenser want you to take the hassle-free approach to wrapping, and enjoy the more magical side of Christmas with simple and effortlessly wrapped gifts.
Filled with neat, pre-cut strips of tape the dispenser sits comfortably on the back of your hand. Armed with the dispenser and our Christmas how to wrapping guides you can ensure a perfectly wrapped present every time. But it is safe to say that writing about a tape dispenser isn’t the most effective way to get across quite how life changing this little wrapping aid is, so we needed to show the media.
For this we needed Jane, Prosecco and a whole lot of wrapping paper. We saw over 20 journalists and publications over the course of day, visiting The Good Housekeeping institute and the Blue Fin Building Press centre. Jane was on hand to answer any wrapping questions and to demonstrate how to wrap a selection of the trickiest gifts. From circular biscuit tin, to a wine bottle, Jane to made the most awkward shapes a beautiful gift to be treasured.
At the end of the day the journalists were all gifted with their own Pop-Up Tape Handband Dispenser and goody bag to have a go with! Meaning they are all set for the second annual 3M Scotch National Wrapping Day PR campaign on the 20th December.
The event was a huge success, Good Housekeeping, Harper’s Bazaar, Red, Country Living, Ideal Home, Woman, Woman’s Own and many more publications all enjoyed their time with Jane and agreed that once you use 3M Scotch Tape you can’t go back. However, this does mean that the Escapade team have no excuses this Christmas and will all have to have beautifully wrapped gifts – we will keep you posted!
