MARKETING CAMPAGNS THAT CAUGHT OUR EYE: ESCAPADE’S MARCH PICKS

As March ends, we reflect on the marketing campaigns that grabbed our attention. From launches to creative collaborations, here’s a roundup of the most notable campaigns of the month.

Nike Annual Air Max Day

Nike’s annual celebration of its iconic Air Max trainers is catching consumers attention. This year, the brand launched the Air Max Dn8, featuring a new air technology and a modern twist on the classic design. The campaign’s success can be attributed to its strategic use of celebrity endorsements, with rising footballer Kobbie Mainoo as the face of the campaign. Mainoo’s growing popularity among younger audiences made him the perfect fit for Nike’s target demographic, which includes active, diverse individuals passionate about sports.

The visuals in the campaign were a blend of athletic performance and lifestyle appeal. By showcasing the Air Max Dn8 not only as a performance shoe but also as a lifestyle accessory, Nike reinforced its sports heritage.

The combination of nostalgia and innovation made Air Max Day a moment that fans eagerly anticipate year after year, driving excitement around this specific launch.

 Adidas SPZL Spring/Summer 2025 Collection

Adidas took a nostalgic approach to their SPZL Spring/Summer 2025 collection, blending cultural heritage with modern design. The campaign was centred around British actor James Nelson-Joyce, who added personality and storytelling to the campaign. The narrative focused on the emotional connection fans have to Adidas which resonating with both old and new customers.

Just like Nike, Adidas refreshed one of its classic shoes, demonstrating the brand’s ability to evolve while staying true to its roots. The limited-edition nature of the collection further amplified the excitement, creating a sense of urgency among consumers.

This strategy, combined with compelling visuals and a strong emotional hook, turned the release into more than just a product launch.

M&S One Ingredient Cornflake

M&S’s One Ingredient Cornflake is a prime example of how understanding consumer trends can lead to marketing success. As consumers become more conscious of ultra-processed foods, M&S tapped into this shift by creating a product that appealed to health-conscious individuals. The campaign gained traction on TikTok, where influencers like Eddie Abbew helped spread the message about the benefits of whole natural foods.

The success of the campaign is a testament to M&S’s ability to read the cultural moment. By aligning their product with a growing conversation about food transparency and health, M&S positioned themselves as a brand that listens to consumers’ needs.

The launch was more than just a product release, but a move that captures the importance and relevance of social media and consumer culture.

St. Patrick’s Day & Jameson Whiskey

Jameson’s “Must Be a Jameson” campaign for St. Patrick’s Day was a standout for its blend of digital reach, in-person activations and partnerships. The brand invested millions in a campaign that reached over 15 million consumers, with TV spots, digital ads and video-on-demand. The collaboration with Sky Sports provided exposure to a dedicated sports audience, tying the brand to St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

At the Carabao Cup Final in Wembley Stadium, Jameson set up the “Orla Board” bus, offering drinks, water and exclusive merchandise to fans. In addition to this, Jameson teamed up with Yard Sale Pizza and influencer What Willy Cook to create a limited-edition “Jameson Spice Bag Special” pizza. This collaboration expanded Jameson’s appeal beyond whiskey lovers, tapping into food culture and making the brand more accessible and fun.
