MARKETING 101: CREATIVE, COLLABORATIVE AND CHANGEABLE

Here at Escapade, we are very familiar with the tests and challenges that the Marketing industry brings.

It can be underpinned by many different characteristics, but for me, I think marketers need to be the three C’s – Creative, Collaborative and Changeable.

Creative

One key trait that Marketers need is a desire to be creative. There is always an opportunity to get creative whether it be through written copy, campaigns or social assets.

Social media has become a key channel in Marketing, giving brands an opportunity to hop on the latest trends and align their launches to generate the biggest impact. The growth of platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, as well as the scope of influencers that now dominate these platforms, provide a wealth of opportunities for brands to generate publicity and get creative!

Content is becoming more advanced, and we now have the tools to personalise content to make it stand out from the competition.

Collaborative

Collaboration is key in Marketing. Whether you are working with fellow colleagues, designers or even influencers, it is important to have great communication and teamwork skills to make any collab a success!

Influencer collabs are particularly important as influencer marketing continues to grow.

An article from Blue Cactus states:

“Influencers, known for their loyal followers and authenticity, are making a big impact on how brands market themselves. They’re seen as more relatable than traditional celebrities, making their endorsements seem more genuine and effective.”

Brands that work with influencers can reach an audience beyond their current market. It is important to find authentic influencers that are the right fit for your brand in order for them to establish a genuine relationship with your target audience.

Collaboration also extends to your audience. Consumer interaction is crucial for brands to build their reputation and communicate those key messages.

Changeable

In the field of Marketing, it is important to be able to adapt to certain situations.

Flexibility and compromise are crucial. Whether you are working to market a new product, or working with existing products, there are always elements which you need to change or adapt.

FMCG Marketing, for example, cannot be pinned down by a tight schedule as timings can constantly change.

Also social media platforms are constantly evolving, therefore it is important to make sure team members are aware of any latest updates or changes in each platform’s marketing approach.

The Escapade Team

I asked a few of the team what aspects they love about Marketing and here is what they had to say.

Mikyesha, Account Executive:

“I love how creative we can be within campaigns and it’s rewarding being able to see the finished result of a campaign which the team has worked hard on.”

Bethany, Digital Marketing Executive:

The part I love the most about marketing is being creative with copy! From crafting a blog post, to writing an engaging social media caption- I enjoy the challenge of capturing a target audience’s attention with the written word in a range of mediums.”

Rhianon, Director:

“I love the variety that comes with working in marketing, no day is ever the same! Every client has different goals and objectives from one project to the next, so whether we’re working on a PR campaign to secure press coverage, recruiting influencers for social media projects, or product sampling one of our latest launches, it’s impossible to get bored or complacent! And it’s ever evolving. There are always new communication channels emerging and developing to keep us marketers on our toes!”
