With the Sound of Music highly likely to crop up on our TV screens over the festive break, you may think that this will be about raindrops on roses, or whiskers on kittens.
But no, with the latest YouGov Ratings report released earlier this month, we are looking at the popularity of anything and everything from celebrities to brands, products to football clubs, cars to chocolate bars.
The latest report reveals that the popularity of people remains strong, filling 26 of the top 100 slots. Although 15 of these places are stars of stage and screen, the top slot of the entire poll is the fabulous David Attenborough. In fact, eighty-seven per cent of Britons, view the nation’s most famous naturalist positively.
Also scoring 87% in the popularity poll is British Heart Foundation and St John Ambulance. Nineteen of the top 100 entities are charities with health charities taking six of the top ten positions.
Food also scores highly in the ratings, with 27 of the top 100 places, with Heinz, Maltesers and McVities all positioned in the top 20.
